Empowered Choice and Consent: Noticing Yes and No in My Body

Get clear and empowered in everyday interactions. Practise simple ways to notice, trust and communicate your wishes and needs.

Learn simple exercises and frameworks to get in touch with your authentic wishes, take responsibility for your needs, and negotiate with curiosity and mutual respect.

@ Together Culture, 15 Fitzroy Street Cambridge CB1 1ER

We all have simple wishes, preferences and limits in everyday life. But often we don't know how to connect with our real wishes, let alone communicate them with others. We end up going along with other people's expectations, or trying to get our needs met in roundabout ways. We don't express an opinion about what to have for dinner. We don't tell our friend that we need to go home by 10pm. We don't know how to ask for a hug - or how to say "no thanks!" to a hug. We're afraid that every request is a demand, and every need is a burden - when actually they're gifts that enrich our relationships.

In our first session on July 1, we'll practise noticing "Yes" and "No" in the body. Specific micro-skills help us to notice, trust and communicate the "Yes" and "No", so that we can be more authentic, and take better care of ourselves in everyday interactions with friends, colleagues, and family members.

These skills help us become more empowered in all our choices. And the best part is, they actually make us more clear, respectful and trustworthy for others. Come along to find out how.

Together we can build a Consent Culture where everyone counts!
